The Silent City

THE SILENT CITY is our fifteenth Master Mystery Production and the first solo writing project of frequent collaborator, C. R. Rowenson.  Set in a post-apocalyptic future, teams of guests worked together to help a field team breach the government quarantine of the former city of Ridgecrest in the Mojave Desert.

The year is 2063, nearly a decade since mysterious quarantine of Ridgecrest, and it’s time someone found some answers.

It happened in the aftermath of the great 2054 Earthquake Swarm in Southern California. Dozens of cities were devastated, leaving millions of people without power, communication, or aid. The nation rallied in support, but in all the chaos, nobody noticed when Ridgecrest fell silent. By the time the worst of the crisis was under control, the Indian Wells Valley was under government control. Roads were destroyed, towns evacuated, and nobody has set foot in the valley since…

Until now.

You are part of The Group, a team bent on delivering truth to the world. A small number of your people have penetrated the military blockade and worked their way into the heart of the desert. Your job is to support the field team in any way you can, providing intelligence and doing whatever you can to solve the mystery of Ridgecrest, the Silent City…

Status: AVAILABLE

Body Count: Zero onstage

Mechanics: Trunk show featuring timed challenges, text documents, and audio recordings.  Built similarly to an escape room in concept.  A non-traditional mystery as it is not a “whodunnit,” but a “whatdidit”–a story about what happened as opposed to who caused it.  Contains mature content (censored strong language and elements of horror).  Not advised for young children.
