Hello, MMP fans!  2016 is chugging along (Seriously.  Wasn’t New Year’s like yesterday?) and it’s time to announce the first Master Mystery Production of 2016!

EX LUNA

Space.  The final frontier.  The place where no one can hear you scream.  A team of astronauts are on a mission to recover the lost remains of the Eagle, the lunar module that carried the first men to the Moon.  But the recent lunar landing has gone horribly awry when the astronaut making a scheduled moon walk dies after his oxygen supply malfunctions.  Equipment that shows clear signs of tampering.  Before the crew can identify the one responsible, their capsule, on the return to Earth, suffers a devastating oxygen leak and power drainage, turning their return into a race for survival.  With a murdered crewmate and a killer in the capsule, it’s up to teams from Mission Control and the Space Station to assemble the evidence, solve the murder, and navigate the marooned astronauts back home in record time.  It’s an epic space-age adventure that will leave you breathless!

EX LUNA is unique for MMP as it is our first cooperative play experience.  We’ve worked on team experiences before with shows like HELLO OUT THERE and HERO.  Those shows focused on competitive play, where the teams would compete against each other to determine the solution.  EX LUNA will have teams communicate clues they have gathered to each other to increase their chances of a correct solution.  There’s a few twists to keep the tension high.  The two teams are kept isolated in separate rooms with only one person on each team functioning as the Communicator.  There is a strict time limit.  If the teams are unable to work together to produce at least one correct solution, the mission fails and the astronauts marooned on their damaged spacecraft will die.  Other events are added to simulate the high pressure environment of a space mission.
